COVID-19: Single-digit number for tri-cities, province

CEBU, Philippines —  The tri-cities of Cebu, Mandaue, and Lapu-Lapu, as well as Cebu province, have logged a single-digit number of new COVID-19 cases.

The cities of Cebu, Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and Cebu Province recorded only nine, three, four, and seven additional cases, respectively, on Monday, September 14, 2020, according to the Department of Health in Central Visayas (DOH-7) data.

As shown on the DOH-7 official Facebook page, the total cases in Cebu City is at 9,750 with 356 active cases.

There were 37 additional recoveries, bringing the total recoveries to 8,732.

One new death was recorded, though, which means the total deaths now stands at 662.

The same data showed that Mandaue City has a total case of 2,330, of these 249 are active.

Ten additional recoveries were reported in the city, putting the total recoveries to 1,954.

The total deaths are at 127 as no new death was reported on the latest update.

Lapu-Lapu City has a total case of 2,253 with 187 active cases.

The total recoveries are at 1,974 as two new recoveries were recorded. The total deaths remain at 92 as no new death was reported.

In Cebu province, the total number of cases is at 5,060 with 538 active cases.

The total number of recoveries is at 4,194, 51 of these are new.

Also, the total number of deaths in the province is at 328 as one new death was recorded.

As of Monday, the total number of COVID-19 cases in Central Visayas is at 19,798 with 1,474 active cases, 17,105 total reported recoveries, and 1,219 total reported deaths. —  JMD (FREEMAN)
