Public services offered during PCL Week

CEBU, Philippines — Various activities and services have been lined up in celebration of the Philippine Councilors League (PCL) Week in the Province of Cebu starting today until tomorrow at Bai Hotel in Mandaue City.

PCL Cebu Provincial Federation president and ex-officio Provincial Board Member Francis Edward Salimbangon said the celebration bears the theme “Public service above self; key to transformational leadership”.

“The following activities and services are waiting, for the convenience and enjoyment of all the participating (city and municipal) councilors,” Salimbangon said.

These include the Land Transportation Office e-Patrol Mobile Services such as renewal of car registration, driver’s license, issuance of student permit and printing of plastic driver’s license.

The Philippine Association of Medical Practitioners (PAMET) will also offer medical services such as random blood sugar testing, blood typing, and blood pressure taking.

Mary Kay Skin Care Services will also offer free facial with diamond peel, free basic makeup application and tutorial and free hand spa.

During PCL’s plenary session today, various topics are expected to be discussed such as information drive on latest legislative measures and best practices by Department of Interior and Local Government Director Jhoaden Lucero, Implementing Rules and Regulations of the Ease of Doing Business Act by Atty. Marvi Maghuyop-Miranda, and Labor Legislation and New Train Law by Atty. Jefferson Marquez.

Governor Gwendolyn Garcia will grace the fellowship dinner tonight to be followed by the Search for Ms. PCL Sports Fest 2019 and a live band.

Salimbangon said the basketball tournament will start on October 4 and end November 21 while bowling and table tennis tournament will be held also on November 21.

Salimbangon will deliver his welcome message during the plenary while PCL Cebu vice president, Toledo City Councilor Ricardo “Kuya Nick” Pepito, will give his welcome address during the fellowship dinner. (FREEMAN)
