2 Koreans hurt in motorbike mishap

CEBU, Philippines — Two South Korean tourists were injured after the motorbike they were riding slipped while trying to overtake a car in Barangay Ginablan, Badian town last Saturday noon.

Lee Solhui, 23, and Go Dukyoung, 24, were on their way to experience canyoneering onboard the motorbike of Eleazar Seloterio, 40, when the accident happened.

They were following a Toyota car and Seloterio tried to overtake but the clearance between the car and the roadside rock wall caused the motorcycle to trip.

Seloterio and the South Koreans sustained minor injuries and were taken to the nearest medical facility.

Seloterio was brought to Badian police station but was later released after an amicable settlement with the two Koreans.

Police Lieutenant Revelito Tadique, chief of Badian police station, said that road crashes rarely happen in the town and there are seminars conducted by local government units to make sure tourists are safe in Badian. (FREEMAN)
