Police nab Talisay City’s most wanted
CEBU, Philippines — One of Talisay City’s most wanted was arrested Monday afternoon in Sitio Crusher, Barangay Lawaan III.
Operatives of Talisay City Police Station served the arrest warrant on Karl Quimada, 20, for theft and murder. His companion Dave Saberon, 22, was also arrested during the operation for possession of firearm.
Police Major Ardeolito Cabagnot, deputy chief of Talisay City Police Station, said both Quimada and Saberon were found in possession of caliber .45 pistol. Cabagnot said the two did not resist arrest.
According to Cabagnot, the suspects were responsible for the series of theft incidents in Talisay City. They were also involved in murder cases. The police said that the suspects also worked as hired guns for drug pushers.
Meanwhile, a 52-year-old father was injured after he was attacked by two people, including his son, in Sitio Paglaum, Barangay Dumlog, Talisay City the other day.
Christopher Alesna suffered bruises and injuries in the hands of his son, Christoper, Jr., 35, and the latter’s friend Vilmar Nolasco, 32.
The younger Alesna allegedly strangled his father with the help of his friend. The timely intervention from the police saved the victim from what could have been a fatal result of his misunderstanding with his son.
According to the police, they saw Christopher, Jr. was already about to hang his father when they arrived. The suspects were arrested and are now detained pending the filing of a formal complaint. (FREEMAN)
