3 fall in drugs, gun ops
CEBU, Philippines — Police arrested three men and seized firearms during separate operations in Balamban and Ronda towns.
Arrested in the Balamban operation were Alfonso Lim Bout a.k.a “Jun Buit,” 53, a former barangay councilman, and Allan Cabatino Lopez a.k.a. “Allan”, 53, a high value drug suspect.
Confiscated from Bout was a caliber 45 revolver with three live ammunitions. Confiscated from Lopez were an improvised shotgun with three live bullets and 10 medium packs of shabu weighing 250 grams with an estimated worth of P1.7 million.
Meanwhile, in Ronda, police arrested Geofrey Bulante Broñola from whom they seized a magnum revolver with nine live bullets, a caliber 22 revolver, a caliber 22 rifle, three air gun rifles, two air gun magazines, barrels of a caliber 40 handgun and a 9mm rifle, and a caliber 22 rifle.
“Kani si Allan Lopez, katong nakuhaan namo’g armas ug drugs na worth 1.7M. Actually, dugay na ni namo siya gi-surveillance. Ang amo nahibaw-an pod, wala ni siya mag-dispose sa Balamban kundi sa Tisa, A. Lopez, nya Labangon (in Cebu City)… mao nay area of distribution niya, mao nang ni-conduct mi’g search warrant… nakuhaan ug drugs ug shot gun,” said Police Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, chief of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
“Kini si Bout, ex-councilor sa Barangay Baliwagan. Nakuhaan pod namo siya’g 45, sa among Search warrant, ug sa Ronda pod nga si Bronola, amo ni gi-series og search warrant mao tong nakuhaan ug mga armas. Si Lopez ug si Bout, silingan ra na sila sa Barangay Baliwagan,” he added.
The three men arrested are facing charges for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act and the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act. — Nichole Alexis A. Abas, USJR Intern, JMO (FREEMAN)
