CEBU, Philippines — Minors violating the curfew ordinance has been the main contributor during “Oplan Tambay’ operations in the whole Cebu Province.

Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) accounted a total of 1,873 arrested and rescued personalities who violated the existing municipal ordinances during their intensified ‘Oplan Tambay’ operation since June 13 to 27.

The minors who violated the curfew law have the highest percentage with 36 percent or a total of 679.

Next was violation of drinking in prohibited places with 544 arrested personalities, or accounting to 29 percent; half naked in public places with 11.9 percent; smoking ban with 11.6 percent; and other violations with 6 percent.

Abrugena said that they will continue intensifying their ‘Oplan Tambay’ operations because it helped lessen the possibility of a crime occurring in some areas.

On the other hand, he also encouraged other station commanders to replicate the program initiated by the Consolacion Police Station, under the leadership of Police Chief Inspector Gerard Ace Pelare and the local government unit, which conducted dialogues to parents and guardians of the rescued minors to prevent them from violating the ordinances again.
