DOLE-7 forms group for family welfare

CEBU, Philippines — The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-7 created the region’s first ever Regional Family Welfare Committee (FWC) Federation that will focus not just on promoting family planning but providing family welfare.

DOLE-7 Regional Director Cyril Ticao, in a statement, said that the successful creation of the federation is another manifestation of the vibrant and sound relations that exist among the industries in the region.

The federation is composed of representatives from labor, management and plant-level clinics.

The FWC Federation officers who will take their oath next month are:

• President- Ms. Gladys Santos of Knowles Electronics Philippines;

• Vice-President- Mr. Gerard Paul Sentillas of Primary Group of Builders;

• Secretary- Joahna Nacar  of Apo Cement Corporation;

• Treasurer- Ms. Helen Binangbang of Alturas Group of Companies;

• Auditor- Ms. Angel Nobleza of Virginia Foods, Incorporated;

• PIO Internal- Ms. Mina Loterte of Sports Royal; and

• PIO External- Mr. Jude Fuertes of Atlas Fertilizer.

Ticao added that the 10 dimensions of the program which will serve as guide to both labor and management in the implementation of programs and projects are Reproductive Health and Responsible Parenthood; Education and Gender Equality; Spirituality or Values Formation; Income Generation/Livelihood/Cooperative; Medical Health Care; Nutrition; Environmental Protection, Hygiene and Sanitation; Sports and Leisure; Housing; and Transportation. — GAN (FREEMAN)
