CEBU, Philippines - The Talisay City Traffic Operations Development Authority has rescheduled on Friday the closure of the Tabunok flyover last night after the contractor deferred the rehabilitation work because of the bad weather.

The contractor, Zion Construction, was supposed to start the asphalt overlay last night but has to postpone it on Friday due to the rain.

CCTODA head Almond Dela Peña said they also have to move the scheduled closure on Friday to harmonize with the schedule of the contractor.

The asphalt overlay is expected to last for four hours within which south-bound vehicles and those coming in to Cebu City from the south will be detoured to the South Coastal Road.

Dela Peña said that if the weather permits on Friday, the rehabilitation works will be completed on schedule since all the needed materials and equipment are already available.

Dela Peña reminded motorists to observe the traffic signs during the road closure to avoid apprehension. He said that since the repair works started last Friday at least 10 motorists have been apprehended for disregarding traffic signs. (FREEMAN)
