2-day operation: Toledo police seize almost P700T shabu

CEBU, Philippines – The Toledo City Police confiscated close to P700,000 worth of suspected drugs in just two days in its campaign against illegal drugs.

The police confiscated P170,000 worth of suspected shabu from an alleged drug-pusher in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Tinahas, Barangay Media Once.

Johannes “Jojo” Pacquing, 31, was arrested by the police after he sold a pack of shabu to a poseur-buyer, and Jun Dave Alferez, 22, his alleged cohort.

The police coordinated with Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency after they received a report that Pacquing was engaged in selling drugs.

After two weeks of surveillance, the police conducted a buy-bust operation past 3 p.m. on Friday.

The poseur-buyer bought P200 worth of shabu from Pacquing, and as soon as the suspect received the money from the buyer and handed over two packs of suspected shabu, Pacquing was immediately arrested. Alferez, who was seen with the suspect, was also arrested.

The operatives frisked Pacquing and recovered the buy-bust money and two large packs of suspected shabu. A large pack of suspected shabu was also seized from Alferez.

The confiscated shabu weighed 15 grams and has a value of P170,000, based on the Dangerous Drugs Board estimate.

The two were brought to the police station for the filing of charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Last Thursday, TCPS also confiscated a total of P495,000 worth of shabu from a suspected drug pusher in a police operation in Barangay Sangi.

Three people were arrested in the operation, namely: Romelo Mahinay Bayadog, armed with a caliber .38 revolver loaded with three live ammunitions; Ariel Abella, armed with a snubnose caliber .38 revolver loaded with two live ammunitions; and Mark Molina armed with a Black Widow Caliber .22 revolver loaded with five live .22 caliber ammunitions. —/ATO (FREEMAN)
