CEBU, Philippines - Jose "Dodong" R. Gullas, who founded The Freeman Foundation and JRG Halad Foundation, is calling on all students and alumni of the University of the Visayas, loyal readers of The Freeman and BANAT News, as well as kindhearted Cebuanos, to help the victims of super typhoon Yolanda in northern Cebu.
"I appeal to everyone to give whatever they can, whether cash or in kind, for our brother and sister Cebuanos who lost their homes and loved ones to the super typhoon," Gullas said.
The typhoon victims in northern Cebu need water, canned goods, noodles, rice and clothes.
He also hopes to raise funds to purchase generator sets that can be used in the typhoon-stricken areas in the north. The generator sets, Gullas said, could be very useful for the typhoon victims to charge their cellphones and get in touch with relatives.
Gullas, together with his wife Nena, is also organizing a benefit concert for the typhoon victims.
Donations may be dropped off at The Freeman office along V. Gullas cor D. Jakosalem streets, Cebu City, the University of the Visayas Main Campus, the JRG Halad Museum, and the Gullas Medical Center in Banilad. (FREEMAN)
