No-nonsense Fengshui

Is your Christmas Tree Lucky or Not?

Yes there is such a thing as Christmas Tree feng shui! It applies to the proper positioning of your symbolic tree of the Christmas season in its proper place in the house, normally living room.

This adheres to the feng shui principle that the feng shui of the breadwinner of the house should be followed! Thus if the breadwinner is you, then your lucky feng shui directions shall apply.  If its your husband, then you have to sacrifice in his honor.  If both then you compromise with a common location to put it.

The objective of this exercise is to attract the best life energies for you and family living in the subject house where the Christmas Tree is placed during the whole season until the next new year! This is to usher in good cheer and tidings, as well as harmony, prosperity, good health; harness the luck for every occupant of the home! These principles apply no matter what size your Christmas Tree is! From teeny weeny ones to as tall as Yao Ming!

Christmas Tree Feng Shui has two simple basic considerations:  positioning and lucky color adornment theme.  For positioning, it depends on who is the breadwinner and what his or her Chinese zodiac sign is!

Rat breadwinners, for husbands, best at the North side of living room. For wives, the opposite, south.Ox, its South for husbands, North for wives!Tiger, its East for husbands and West for wives.  Rabbit, its Southeast for  hubby and Northwest for wifey. Dragon its both Southeast for husband and wife.  Snake, its Southwest for him and Northeast for her.  Horse, its both East.  Sheep its both Southeast.  Monkey, its Southwest for husband and Northeast for wife!  Rooster, its West for husband and East for wife.  Dog, its North for husband, South for wifey.  Pig, its Northwest for hubby and Southeast for wife.

If both are breadwinners, and have opposite directions; the safest is to use either an East-Northeast location or South-Southwest!

For lucky colors, it is safe to apply the color of the year for all in the Christmas tree trimmings like Christmas balls and other buntings!  The luckiest color this season is green in all its pantone palette shades! For complementary colors you may use this guide, referring to the above Chinese zodiac sign direction guide above:

If you are East, Southeast: complementary lucky colors are green tones.  If you are Southwest or Northeast: yellow, gold and earthtones.  If North: blue and black!  If South, red and tangerines!  If Northwest: white and metallic tones-silver, gold, copper, brass.

Space considerations limit your positioning and type of Christmas tree.  In small space feng shui like condominium units or limited townhouse living rooms, surprise! You may even invert the Christmas tree artfully to accommodate more space!

Feel free! Express the Reason of the Season with glee and abundance this Christmas season starting with the ultimate statement of it all in your interior design of  home or office!
