Cebu gets a mention in latest ‘Vincenzo’ episode

CEBU, Philippines —  The Korean dark comedy series “Vincenzo” – number 3 on Netflix Philippines’ Most Watched as of press time – delighted Filipino viewers when its latest episode had one of its characters mentioning Cebu.

Starring Hallyu superstar Song Joong-ki, “Vincenzo” premiered February 20 on the streaming service and has consistently made it to the Top 10 titles watched in the country. It also consistently trends on Twitter Philippines, like it did Saturday, April 10, after Episode 15 was dropped (the series has 20 episodes).

In one scene, Ragusang Gallery director Jung Do-hee (Lee Hye-jung) expresses his desire to leave Korea for Taiwan to evade trouble. But the character Park Seo-do (Kim Young-woong) recommended that he go to Cebu instead.

“Vincenzo” follows Song’s Vincenzo Cassano, a Korean-born but Italian-raised mafia lawyer who escapes to his homeland after being double-crossed by enemies.
