TV5, Cignal TV partner to redefine entertainment scene
STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky Calderon (The Freeman) - August 14, 2020 - 12:00am

TV5 President and CEO Robert Galang announced a new partnership between the long running broadcast institution and Cignal TV, the country’s top pay TV provider, which would be its major block timer as the network reclaims its position as a top contender in the country’s broadcast industry. He also serves as head of Cignal TV – a subsidiary of MediaQuest Holdings in a concurrent capacity. The partnership, according to him, would be seamless considering the complementary blending of the strengths that each organization brings to the table.

Cignal TV’s nationwide reach and technological prowess combined with TV5’s innovative and creative nature would be an exciting package. The new partnership aims to redefine the entertainment scene by offering topnotch shows and talents that can greatly boost TV5’s re-programming goals which have been an ongoing plan since late 2019, and now bolstered by Cignal TV’s other digital assets.

“We are revving up our entertainment content creation and will need creatives, talents, directors, scriptwriters, cameramen, etc.,” Cignal TV and TV5 Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan said. According to the Chairman, if they are willing and able to work with the network, then TV5 and Cignal TV are prepared to offer alternative jobs for relevant displaced workers.

A major new asset is the NBA that is now available live on Cignal TV as well as TV5 and One Sports. “The NBA coming to Cignal TV and TV5 only strengthens our position of bringing the best sports to our viewers,” Galang said.

Airing tomorrow is TV5’s first salvo of lifestyle programs and game shows hosted by artists with proven versatility and mass appeal. Its new morning show called “Chika, BESH! (Basta Everyday Super Happy)” brings together Pokwang, Pauleen Luna, and Ria Atayde.

In “Fit for Life,” Jessy Mendiola will draw from her own fitness transformation in inspiring viewers to commit to a healthier lifestyle.

Get ready for intimate conversations and real life talk on “Usapang Real Life” with Luchi Cruz-Valdez.

Two game shows will be headlined by loveable comedians: Wally Bayola and Paolo Ballesteros for “Bawal na Game Show”; Jose Manalo and Pokwang for “Fill in the Bank.”

Coming back to TV is “Bangon Talentadong Pinoy” which aims to reflect the creativity of artists regardless of the current situation and will be hosted again by Ryan Agoncillo who will be joined by talent scouts John Arcilla, Janice de Belen and Joross Gamboa in the pilot.

According to Galang, “Our commitment is to celebrate the lives of today’s Filipinos by providing informative as well as inspiring and uplifting entertainment content, and hopefully, we are able to make lives a little better, safer, and easier in these times.”

Unusual times call for innovation. For multi-faceted celebrity-businessman RS Francisco, the extra time brought by the unexpected (and unfortunate) pandemic gave way for him to fully develop his dream line of fun and colorful apparel, while adding a functional twist to keep us protected from the virus.

A deliberate act that was partly aimed to promote public service in Pride month, RS’ passion for fashion meets his passion for mankind with a continuous pledge of 50 percent from RS Luxxe Wear’s (RSLW) sales to charitable pursuits in response to Covid-19.

Last August 8 was RS’s birthday and it marked the official launch of RSLW. There was a live online selling on his Facebook page graced by the country’s most trending social media influencers today: TEAM JOSA

(Sachzna Laparan and Jomar Lovena) and TEAM EBS (Angelica Yap and Flow-G).

To thank those who supported the clothing line and helping with Frontrow Cares’ immediate causes, all those who purchased at least one shirt from the Facebook Live launch received two free face masks. The shirt costs P888 and the mask P168.

“May this piece of RS Luxxe Wear come as a blessing to you, a clothing line that we’ve created to touch the lives of many,” said RS.
