An all-female ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ reboot

Sandra Bullock

CEBU, Philippines - The previously-rumored all-female “Ocean’s Eleven” reboot is a go. E! News confirmed that Warner Brothers is moving along with the crime caper franchise and has set an October start date for filming.

On top of that, they’ve firmed up the cast, with Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, Mindy Kaling and hip hop artist Awkwafina set to star.

“Ocean’s Eight,” as the reboot is to be called, has yet to announce plot details, but seeing as it’s a spinoff on the original “Ocean’s” series, we can guess that some sort of casino heist is in the works.

This comes on the heels of the recent slightly embattled all-female “Ghostbusters” reboot, proving that Hollywood is on the precipice of a new trend.

“Ocean’s Eleven” had George Clooney and accomplices rob three Las Vegas casinos, and had the sequels “Ocean’s Twelve” and “Ocean’s Thirteen.”   (FREEMAN)
