Teens vie for Mr. & Ms. Olive-C Campus Model regional search

CEBU, Philippines - Some of the official candidates for the Visayas region search of this year’s Mr. and Ms. Olive C Campus Model were introduced last Friday afternoon at Robinsons Mall, Fuente.

Fourteen males and 12 females from Cebu’s colleges and universities will vie for the title this February 28, 8 p.m. at the University of the Visayas – Main Campus. The pageant night will be hosted by Mr. and Ms. Olive C Campus Model former winners Chelsea Starling and Joefel Alas.

Now on its fifth year, this nationwide search for campus model continues its quest in looking for the most qualified student with an outstanding personality to be the next Mr. and Ms. Olive-C titleholders. This pageant – a brainchild of  Psalmstre founder and CEO Jaime “Jim” Acosta – for teens aims to provide opportunities and serves as a springboard to young hopefuls who aspire to pursue a modelling career.

Dubbed as the biggest campus model search in the Philippines, the pageant has also become a stepping stone for a showbiz career. Some of the alumni who are now in TV/movie industry include Hiro Magalona of GMA-7, Jon Lucas of ABS-CBN Star Magic and the reigning winners Ryan Paul Artienda and Ash Ortega of GMA-7. Beauty titlists Muriel Adrienne Isidore Orais (Ms. Philippines Earth – Water 2011) and Mutya Johanna Datul (Miss Supranational 2013) also began with the Olive-C pageant.

The 12 female candidates are: Reynaly Campos, 20, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Southwestern University; Marimar Dinapol, 17, Bachelor of Science in Tourism at Cebu Normal University; Katherine Rey Go, 15, Saint Thomas Aquinas – School Montessori; Princess Jayme, 18, Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Cebu Normal University; Luzenne Jones, 16, San Roque Child Development School; Cheryl Dela Cerna, 18, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education at University of Cebu; Norecel Mae Ybañez, 18, Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management at Cebu Institute of Technology - University; Clare Inso, 16, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Cebu Normal University; Jane Claire Jamili, 17, Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication at University of San Carlos; Jowyna Kristine Yap, 17, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Operations Management at University of San Carlos; Monique Acha, 18, Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Cebu Normal University; and Carneah Basmayor, Eastern Visayan Academy.

The 14 male candidates are: Adon John Laserna, 17, Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering at University of San Carlos; Lauro Orlando Magno, 20, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management at University of Cebu; Glenn Phil Cumayas, 18, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at University of Cebu; Kenn Jerone Omar, 17, Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering at Cebu Institute of Technology – University; Jefferson Yu, 20, Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management at University of San Carlos; Renier Dosdos, 17, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy at University of San Carlos; Frederic Lance Catacutan, 15, Saint Thomas Aquinas – School Montessori; Carlo Federico Cadampog, 16, University of San Carlos; Alfonso Montenegro, 20, Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship at University of San Carlos; Paul Guinefolleau, 16, B.R.I.G.H.T Academy; Raymund Rosiller De Veyra, 17, Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation at University of Cebu – METC; Dame Fajardo, 16, Cebu Eastern College; Jan Noises Alarcon, 17, Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Cebu Normal University; and Daniel Elumba, 16, Center for International Education.

Winners that will be chosen for the Cebu search will compete for the national competition of Mr. and Ms. Olive C 2015 in Manila in May.

Ms. Olive C Visayas 2014 grand winner Mhon Theress Menaling, who graced the 2015 candidates’ public launch, gave her two cents on how the gals and guys should handle the pressure of taking part in a pageant. “Be yourself, enjoy what you have right now because this is a once in a lifetime experience, so give your best shot.”

Mr. and Ms. Olive C Campus Model Search 2015 is brought by CREWorks Asia in cooperation with Psalmstre Enterprises, Inc. makers of Olive-C, New Placenta and Scent – J Perfume.
