Lenovo supports academe transition to online classes

CEBU, Philippines —  The direction of schools towards adapting online classes prompted global tech and innovation company Lenovo to be at the forefront of helping the education sector in this transition.

“Education is one of the sectors that have welcomed the transformation brought about by social distancing and other precautionary health measures. Driven by our vision of ‘Smarter Technology for All’, Lenovo has collaborated with educators to create customer-centric innovative solutions catered to students. These solutions will enhance students’ digital literacy by providing them with optimal learning experiences that will prepare them to excel in the digitalizing world,” said Michael Ngan,  Lenovo Philippines President and General Manager.

In collaboration with Microsoft, Lenovo is sponsoring two presentations in the ongoing EduTech Live Webinar series.

EduTech is an annual education conference where experts discuss the use of technology and innovation to advance quality education in the Philippines.

Scheduled to air on May 28, 2020 at 11:00AM, Lenovo’s first sponsored webinar titled “Going Virtual: Shifting to Remote Teaching and Learning” will identify the challenges faced by schools as they constantly keep up with the quick digitalization of the education sector.

It aims to introduce new ways of maximizing technology as an educational tool to be able to deliver efficient teaching methods online during the quarantine. It will also discuss what the “new norm” will most likely be for students and teachers, at least up to early next year, as the world overcomes the health crisis and gradually rolls back to the way things were.

The second Lenovo-sponsored webinar titled “Improve Student Learning with Technology Transformation”, is available to stream on June 2, 2020 at 11:00AM.

This webinar underscores the need to create the classroom of the future to help bridge the school-home gap for students and teachers. It will introduce educational software, such as Microsoft Teams for Education and Lenovo’s Lan School, which will assist educators in setting up well-structured digital smart classrooms to improve student learning and accelerate positive outcomes.

Representing Lenovo as the webinar speakers are industry experts Rich Henderson, Product Marketing Director; Delia DeCourcy, Global Education Solutions Manager; and Hung Chuan Khoo, Education Transform and Development Director.

Meanwhile, speakers from Microsoft will be Paolo Balinas, Enterprise Channel Manager for Education; and John Erwin Magno, Global Training Partner of Microsoft and President and Senior Trainer from Line Learning and Development Solutions.

Smarter Technology for All

Envisioning “Smarter Technology for All,” Lenovo aims to help transform the world intelligently by providing solutions and improving lives through innovation across industries.

Lenovo, according to Ngan has always been determined to use the power of smarter technology to bring meaningful change in the education sector. It creates innovative solutions, such as Lan School and Lenovo VR Classroom, that will benefit educators and students, while empowering education institutions to enhance their digital capability through smart technology.

Lenovo continuously partners with leaders in the tech and education industries to develop solutions with a strong focus on both the customer and e-learning, to guarantee that the demands of education’s rapid digitalization are addressed. Lenovo does so by providing easy-to-use platforms that make the most of digital learning.

Navigating the education sector’s digital transformation journey and progressing to digital learning may seem like a daunting task but Lenovo believes that smarter technology brings forth expansive positive changes and elevates the quality of education in the Philippines. Making education convenient and accessible during these challenging times as everyone moves forward to the new normal will definitely be worth it.
