The former chairman of the Presidential Commission on Y2K Compliance, Amable Aguiluz IV, said yesterday he is still most willing to contribute in any way as a private individual to the development efforts of President Estrada despite his sad experience in the commission.

Aguiluz resigned from his post out of delicadeza following charges that he had used his clout as commission head to favor Millennium Solutions Corp., which he allegedly owned.

Globe Telecom said it passed the Year 2000 rollover on the midnight of Dec. 31, 1999 successfully. As of 12:01 a.m. of Jan. 1 and thereafter, all of the telecommunications company's systems and operations were online and running smoothly.

These included the systems identified by the company as critical to its operations: billing, finance management, procurement, carrier connectivity and network maintenance.
