[Summary] => Sometimes, when I am really bored (which rarely happens), I go around the house browsing through magazines. I’m not really the magazine-subscriber type. My taste in magazines is a bit eclectic – what I read usually depends on my various interests and my mood for that day. Typically, I like browsing through sports magazines. Second on the list would be public affairs and business magazines like Time, Newsweek, Fortune, etc.

[Summary] => LOS ANGELES – As I write this piece, I’m savoring the cool California breeze and the wonderful ocean view in this quaint Santa Monica beach restaurant called Surf View Cafe, together with my wife, Teemy, and our very good friend Ricky Ramos. My entire family spent the holidays here in the US to commemorate a very important event – the golden wedding anniversary of my folks who celebrated 50 years of marital bliss last Saturday, Jan. 7. Actually, it’s been a celebration of momentous milestones for my family these past weeks.

[Summary] => Have you ever experienced the "I-can-watch-this-a-million-times" syndrome? You know, that inexplicable feeling where you watch a show or a movie and you tell yourself, "Boy, I can watch this every day!" I have. And I can’t explain it. It’s like an addiction. When I was a kid, I watched Superman around 10 times. Then Star Wars came along and I watched that around 15 times. Then the Back to the Future trilogy came into the picture. I watched that around 20 times I think. For some reason, I like watching movies that I have already watched.

[Summary] => Back in high-school, I overheard two of my classmates, Eric and Jay, conversing and I swear, it is one of the most hilarious exchanges I have ever heard in my life.

Eric:
Jay, sine naman tayo.

Jay:
Huwag na – some other day na lang.

Eric:
Ha? Matagal pa ang Mother’s Day, eh! (Apparently, Eric thought Jay said "Sa Mother’s Day na lang" instead of "some other day na lang.")

The past six weeks, my life has centered mostly on this whole marriage thing. So, you’ll have to bear with me.

As I type on my computer pondering what topic I should write about, a million thoughts are entering my mind. One thing’s for sure – I am certainly not in a writing mood right now. Actually, let me rephrase that – I am not in a mood for anything. Not after the hellish tragedy that all of us went through and witnessed last week.
