Nanawagan ang party list group na Alliance of Neo-Conservatives (ANC) na gawing exempted na ang mga nakatatanda sa value added tax (VAT).


Ayon sa tagapagsalita ng ANC na si Arnold Obina, nanilbihan sa bansa at tumulong sa ekonomiya ang mga nakatatanda noong sila ay mas aktibo pa.

Ang Seniors Citizens Act ay isinabatas upang pangalagaan ang karapatan ng mga nakatatanda at mabigyan sila ng karampatang mga pribilehiyo. Kabilang dito ang 20 porsyentong diskwento sa gastusin sa gamot at iba pang pangangailangan.
