Cracker sandwiches and flavored biscuits

IN MY BASKET - Lydia D. Castillo - The Philippine Star

Many of us will be expecting homecoming relatives and friends during the coming holidays. Aside from the main meals and heavy snacks, we normally prepare a few edibles which are easily available in our cupboards for anyone to get without much hassle.

We came across the new variants of biscuits on the market and we have started keeping them on reserve for something to munch on.

MY San’s Sky Flakes filled with condensada was first in the stores. This was followed by their flavored crackers done with onions and chives. Fita has theirs filled with spicy tuna. From Hong Kong but now available here are the Garden brand of biscuits flavored with a mix of vegetables. Locally, there are chips made with malunggay. Browse through weekend markets – there are more. They don’t cost much and do not spoil.

Now for more gift ideas. Our Italian friend has sent a list of possible holiday presents. These are available at A Taste of Italy store at 1449 Quirino Avenue, Paco. They carry a large collection of industrial and personal kitchen equipment. For the homemaker, she can browse around the store for some of her personal kitchen needs. There are barista accessories, pressure cookers, blenders, electric grills, tongs, knife sharpeners, flatware and many more. For those planning to go into the food business, check out their inventory of industrial kitchen equipment. Contact them at tel 498-0626/509-9280.

Have a happy Sunday!
