Shakey’s unveils junior league
MANILA, Philippines — It’s time for the new generation to shine as the Shakey’s Super League stages its inaugural Juniors National Invitationals featuring a mixture of local bets and international guests starting today at the Playtime Filoil Centre in San Juan.
UAAP powerhouse Santo Tomas leads the seven-team field that also includes the Guam-based Pacific Volleyball Academy and the Perfect Set Dream Makers from California, USA. Other local bets are Pusong Azul from Ateneo, St. John’s Institute from Bacolod, Arellano U High School and One La Salle, made up of the best junior players of La Salle Zobel, Greenhills and Dasmariñas.
UST takes on AU at 1 p.m. followed by the duels of Pusong Azul and Pacific Volleyball Academy, and St. John and One La Salle. AU and Pacific then return to action in the nightcap to complete the four-bill opener with Perfect Set debuting against One La Salle and Santo Tomas, respectively, the next day.
