3x3 Super Quest unwraps in Sta. Rosa

MANILA, Philippines — Cebu Chooks banners the three home teams clashing with five regional rivals in the 2022 Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3x3 Asia Pacific Super Quest set this weekend at the Ayala Malls Solenad in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Comprised of Mac Tallo, Brandon Ramirez, Zach Huang and reinforcement Mike Harry Nzeusseu  under the tutelage of coach Aldin Ayo, Cebu Chooks is the country’s best bet in Pool B against Mongolia’s Sansar MMC Energy, Indonesia’s Tangerang and fellow local squad Butuan Chooks featuring Alvin Baetiong, Jonjon Gabriel, Joshua Webb and Ron Dennison.

In Pool A, the Manila Chooks team of Mark Yee, Chico Lanete, Dennis Santos and Chibueze Ike slugs it out with Mongolia’s Zaisan MMC Energy, Australia’s Melbourne Hoop City and Japan’s Tokyo Dime.

A qualifier for the 2022 Chooks-to-Go FIBA 3x3 World Tour Manila Masters next month, the event fires off at 12 noon.

But all eyes are on Cebu as the top 3x3 team in the Philippines headlined by the No. 1 3x3 player in Tallo (world No. 175).

Cebu Chooks is coming off a gallant stand in the  2022 FIBA 3x3 Dubai Expo Super Quest last March, pushing the world’s top 3x3 clubs bannered by Tokyo Olympics gold medalist Riga of Latvia a to the limit before running out of steam.

At home this time around, Ayo’s wards are out to get the job done even against an equally potent clubs in the region.

Apart from the lethal squads from Mongolia, the Philippine teams face a tall order against Tokyo Dime, which won the 2019 Asia Pacific Super Quest and Melbourne Hoop City led by 2019 FIBA 3X3 Asia Cup MVP Tom Wright.

Games fire off at 12 noon.
