MPL-PH launches corporate social responsibility arm

MANILA, Philippines — With its latest season coming to a close, Mobile Legends: Bang Professional League Philippines (MPL-PH) has embarked on a new initiative — one that the league hopes will help and support local charities and institutions.

Launched last November 15, MPL Cares is the league's corporate social responsibility initiative that aims to empower local communities through different projects like donations in cash or care packages, and hosting webinars with local esports talents.

MPL Cares hopes to partner with charities and interested sponsors and esports talents who also share in the same vision of providing long-term benefits to those in need.

"We want to improve the wellbeing and livelihood of local citizens, and provide the necessary assistance to help them succeed. The pandemic has caused a lot of disruption to various livelihoods, and we as a league believe that it is essential to provide our society all the help they need, to become a more resilient community. We stand together with those in need, and we want to work with local charities to nurture a caring society," said Matt Jaron, MPL Philippines’ business development manager.

Prior to the launch of MPL Cares, the league has collaborated with different institutions in the call for social responsibility.

Last February, the league partnered with World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to raise awareness wildlife conservation.

Recently, the league also partnered with ChildHope Philippines HQ and hosted a meet and greet with Blacklist International.
