MANILA, Philippines — ONIC PH is riding the momentum after handing defending champions Blacklist International its first defeat of the season in the Mobile Legends Professional League Philippines (MPL PH) Season 8 on Sunday, 2-0.
Second in the standings, ONIC PH learned from their earlier outing against Blacklist where they almost defeated the Season 7 champions for a solo spot on the leaderboard when they took the first game.
Unfortunately, Blacklist, which forced a deciding Game Three, quickly showcased their dominance of the game.
In their second meeting, though, ONIC was able to deny Blacklist of anonther comeback as they disposed of them in two games that lasted 16:16 each.
With the win, ONIC PH has secured their upper bracket slot as they improved their second place ranking with 25 points and an 8-4 win-loss card.
Blacklist International still sits at first place with 28 points and an 11-1 slate.
On Saturday, ONIC PH hopes to also avenge a previous defeat when they face RSG while Blacklist will face Southeast Asia champions Smart Omega.
