MANILA, Philippines — Japan B. League team Shiga Lakestars opted to postpone their press conference with Kiefer Ravena supposedly slated on Monday.

This following the PBA board's decision handed down on Saturday that deemed Ravena must fulfill his contract with the NLEX Road Warriors.

Per a statement released by the Lakestars, the press conference was postponed to avoid more confusion of the situation.

"We will continue discussions to resolve this issues [sic]," the statement read.

The PBA had informed the B. League of its resolution that barred Ravena from playing with the Japanese club.

League chairman Ricky Vargas called the decision "final".

Vargas said that Asia's first-ever professional league handed down the verdict with a philosophy of adhering to contracts.

"[The PBA's] decision follows specifically a philosophy on the importance of a contract," said Vargas.

Ravena had signed a fresh three-year contract with the Road Warriors just last September.

The Shiga Lakerstars' announcement then that they had signed the older Ravena raised eyebrows.

His younger brother, Thirdy, is currently under contract with B. League team San-En NeoPhoenix.

Both signings were part of the league's Asian Player Quota deal.
