Chooks-to-Go backs NBL, WNBL

MANILA, Philippines — The National Basketball League and WNBL have inked tieups with sports backer Chooks-to-Go for their inaugural pro seasons.

The NBL and WNBL will have Chooks-to-Go as title sponsor for the slated 1-on-1, 3x3 and 5-on-5 basketball tournaments this year after gaining pro status from the Games and Amusements Board (GAB).

“NBL and WNBL Pilipinas are pleased to extend its amazing relationship with Chooks-to-Go. We are very excited to take the next step in championing athletes all over the country,” said NBL chairman Celso Mercado.

“The NBL shares the same vision as Chooks-to-Go which is to bring out the best in our homegrown athletes. On the other hand, the WNBL is a league that is a breakthrough for all Filipina athletes,” said Chooks-to-Go president Ronald Mascariñas.

The league is aiming to begin its 1-on-1 tourney this month while the shelved 5-on-5 event – made up of 12 teams in the NBL and six in WNBL – is slated in the third quarter of the year.
