MANILA, Philippines — Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino will name the country’s chef de mission to this year’s Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi when the POC holds its executive board meeting today.

It will be the first POC executive meeting since Tolentino and the rest of the board received fresh mandates during an election held last November.

It will take place at the East Ocean Palace in Pasay City. Those who cannot attend physically can join the meeting online. It starts at 10:30 a.m.

Naming the chief of mission of the Philippine delegation to Hanoi is on the agenda. The POC did not identify any candidate or candidates to the position.

Tolentino, the congressman from Tagaytay, may also name the chef de mission for both the Asian Indoor Martial Arts Games and Asian Beach Games.

The board will tackle the liquidation purchase of equipment for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games, its financial report, the proposed 2021 budget and a new set of bank signatories.

Before the executive board, Tolentino will talk about his ambitious plan of finding the POC its permanent home.

The board will also hear updates from the membership and accreditation commission.

Naming the country’s flag bearer to the Tokyo Olympics, however, is not on the agenda. The POC is still waiting for other qualifiers before officially appointing one.
