MANILA, Philippines — Add the FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters Manila leg to the growing list of sports events that were either postponed or cancelled amidst the dreaded COVID-19 outbreak.
The International Basketball Federation (FIBA), in partnership with top 3x3 patron Chooks-to-Go, yesterday announced the rescheduling of the World Tour Masters to Aug. 15-16 at the SM Megamall Fashion Hall in Mandaluyong.
It was originally slated May 2-3 as the second leg of the 13-city world tour.
Also postponed for now was the scheduled opener of the Chooks-to-Go 3x3 League President’s Cup on March 29 at the SM Fairview in Quezon City.
Twelve teams, including nine from the MPBL, will vie for this year’s 3x3 crown in a year-long six-leg halfcourt wars.
The Chooks-to-Go-FIBA 3x3 World Tour Masters Manila leg was the latest event to be called off due to the COVID-19, joining local leagues like the PBA, UAAP, NCAA, MPBL and PSL, among others.
