MANILA, Philippines — After absorbing back-to-back beatdowns at the hands of Italy and Serbia, Gilas Pilipinas is hoping to salvage a win in the group stage of the 2019 FIBA World Cup against Angola on Wednesday afternoon.
Despite the Filipino cagers being out of contention in the tournament, a win against lower-ranked Angola will be a big boost for Gilas' 2022 Tokyo Olympic bid.
Both Angola and the Philippines are winless in the tournament so far.
