For Tams, it’s do or die; for Falcons, non-bearing

The Tams (7-6) seek to duplicate their first-round 88-85 overtime upset over the No. 2-guaranteed Falcons (10-3) in the 4 p.m. duel to finish the elims on level with La Salle (8-6) and force a rubbermatch for No. 4.

MANILA, Philippines — Far Eastern U goes for broke against semis-bound Adamson today as it shoots for a rubbermatch for the remaining Final Four berth in the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball tourney.

The Tams (7-6) seek to duplicate their first-round 88-85 overtime upset over the No. 2-guaranteed Falcons (10-3) in the 4 p.m. duel to finish the elims on level with La Salle (8-6) and force a rubbermatch for No. 4.

“We’re going all out for the win,” said FEU coach Olsen Racela, whose wards kept their F4 bid alive with back-to-back victories over eliminated squads University of the East (80-61) and National U (79-74).  “Hopefully makakuha kami ng momentum and get one more to force a playoff.”

A victory by FEU actually forces a triple tie at No. 3 with University of the Philippines and DLSU but the Maroons  already have a lock on third spot, owing to superior quotient, leaving DLSU and the Tams to dispute the last ticket.

On the other hand, a win by Adamson closes the door on the Tams and gives the Archers a free pass to the F4 as fourth-ranked versus waiting top seed Ateneo 12-2.
