MANILA, Philippines — Team Pilipinas Agilas, made up of the mainstays of the Paref-Southridge Admirals Pinto baseball squad and backstopped by top players of Ateneo and La Salle-Zobel, slugs it out with the best in the fold in the Pony 8-Under Baseball Pinto International Classic firing off Friday in Mt. Vernon, Illinois.

The Filipino kids will take the Murphysboro and the Carmi squads in the Pool B opener then will collide with the Lawrenceville and Mt. Vernon teams on Saturday.

The top four teams after the pool play will advance to the semifinals.

Handled by baseball program director and coach Luke Bernardo and head mentor Jonas Ponce, the team, sponsored by Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (PT&T),  topped the 2018 PTBFIi (Pony) Baseball tournament to clinch the berth in the Pinto International Baseball Classic.

Prior to their departure, Team Pilipinas Agilas, with the coaching staff and their parents, paid a courtesy call on President Duterte.
