MACAU — Danny Kingad mounted a valiant stand before a divided crowd at the Studio City event center en route to a unanimous decision win over Ma Hao Bin in ONE Championship’s “Pinnacle of Power” preliminaries here Saturday night.

The Team Lakay ward opened the fight with a kick to the Chinese’s side as if looking to dictate the tempo.

Ma, for his part, matched that and more. He tried to bring the Filipino to the ground. But Kingad, who was stellar with his defense, pulled through until the final round.

The two steadily exchanged fists, kicks, and submission attempts until the closing bell.

Another Filipino and a Chinese figured in a tussle shortly after. Li Kai Wen knocked out Rodian Menchavez 10 seconds into the fight with a right hand to the temple.

Menchavez, a featherweight whose mettle had been long tested in the URCC, was making his debut in the promotion.

Kingad, for his part, is now riding on a two-match win streak beginning with an equally gritty stand against Sotir Kichukov last March. He is currently touting a 9-1 win-loss card.
