MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas' libero Rica Rivera suffered a lateral meniscal tear in her right knee.

Rivera on Tuesday confirmed to Philstar.com her MRI result and said she will be out for two to four weeks.

The senior libero went down in the first set of their match against the Ateneo de Manila University Lady Eagles last Sunday.

She struggled to get up after digging an Ateneo hit and was carried to the dugout. Rookie Cat Pollentes took over.

Rivera's absence affected the Tigresses as they surrendered the match, 25-16, 22-25, 22-25, 23-25.

Although she will miss UST's remaining first round assignments, Rivera said she will do everything to recover quickly and get back with the team.

"Start strong, finish stronger," she said.
