MANILA, Philippines — Semi-professional volleyball players raised almost P217,000 pesos to donate to Olympian Ian Larriba.

Several volleyball players in the Philippine Superiga auctioned their jerseys online to raise funds for Larriba's medication.

Larriba, the Rio Olympics flag-bearer and multi-UAAP champion, was diagnosed with acute myeloid Leukemia.

Petron player and former University of Santo Tomas standout Carmela Tunay on Tuesday posted the result of the auction.

The highest jersey bid went to Cocolife's Denden Lazaro at P16,000. Cignal's Rachel Anne Daquis and Jovelyn Gonzaga raised P12,000 and P11,500, respectively.

Aside from private entities, the Philippine Sports Commission has been funding Larriba's medical expenses.
