MANILA, Philippines — PLDT will return to the Philippine V-League, formerly the Shakey's V-League this year, after a one-year absence.

Roger Gorayeb, the Ultra-fast Hitters coach, said management is only ironing out the remaining kinks before making their return official in time for the PVL's Season 14 Reinforced Conference in March.

"Yes, it points towards that direction, which is returning to the V-League," said Gorayeb in Filipino.

Gorayeb initially named Suzanne Roces, Rysabelle Devanadera, Tata Pantone, Louanne Latigay, Ella de Jesus and Jem Ferrer to the team and there are plans to pursue Alyssa Valdez, who is currently suiting up for 3BB in the Thailand League.

Under Gorayeb and led by Valdez, PLDT topped the Season 12 Open and Reinforced Conferences two years ago before deciding to skip the whole Season 13.

"Of course we want Alyssa (Valdez) but it will be up to the PLDT management," said Gorayeb.

Gorayeb is also eyeing some players from National University and San Sebastian, teams he is coaching in the UAAP and NCAA.

Some of the collegiate players being eyed make it to the team are Jorelle Singh, Aiko Urdas, Jasmine Nabor and possibly Jaja Santiago of NU and Grethcel Soltones and Alyssa Eroa of San Sebastian among others.
