USPGAT pioneers US-style golf school

USPGAT brings the 3D Golf Swing Analyzer to the Philippines to monitor a golfer’s movement and to correct swing faults.

MANILA, Philippines - The US Professional Golf Academy and Tours (USPGAT) has put up the first golf school in the country with a US-style formal education offered for students and golf enthusiasts at Commercenter in Alabang.

USPGAT boasts of state-of-the-art indoor golf school facilities where students can increase their theoretical knowledge of the sport, improve and work on their biomechanics through the physical fitness gym, correct swing faults and movements using the 3D swing analysis equipment, and practice swings and strokes in the indoor putting and chipping area.

A brainchild of business partners Ronald Iledan and golf pro Honeyboy Pabonita, the USPGAT seeks to address the need of the Asian market for an in-depth knowledge of the sport. The school provides a less-expensive but equally effective option in pursuing a US-based golf degree.

“Some golf instructions here in the country are traditional. It’s mostly session per session. Here at USPGAT, we intend to share complete information with a structured program. It’s going to be a commitment for both golfer and instructor. USPGAT focuses on the fundamentals of the game. There are stages to the teachings – from the indoor facility, the driving range and the golf course,” said Pabonita.

The course outline includes golf fitness, golf biomechanics, golf fundamentals, sequential stages of the golf swing, long and short game approach, playing with the pros, mental toughness training and examination where students will be tested on golf swings, handling pressure, game management, consistency and accuracy.
