MANILA, Philippines - City Kart Racing will hold its first major project dubbed the “Race to Boracay” firing off Oct. 23 with more than 500 drivers expected to vie for top honors at Circuit Makati in Barangay Carmona, Makati.
The competition involves four stages with the first serving as the qualifying round where all participants will be given five chances to come up with their best lap time using karts fitted with soft compound tires.
The lap time will determine their entry to the pre-final round for the top 200 drivers. From there, 50 will be chosen to take part in the finale with the top 10 to fight “fastest driver” plum.
With CKR’s state-of-the-art timing system which records lap times up to the thousandth of a second, precision is guaranteed. CKR also has a mobile application for its timing system where participants could monitor the numbers even if off the race track.
There will be two classes, juniors (13 to 17 years old) and adults (18 years old and above) with the winners to receive a three-day, two-night hotel certificate and round trip airfare for two to Boracay.
The qualifying rounds will be held Oct. 23-Nov. 14 with the pre-finale set Nov. 22 and the final on Nov. 23.
Entry fee is pegged at P3,900, inclusive of five qualifying rounds with the early registrants (before Oct. 17) to get one free practice run.
