Anton braces for Azkals return

Anton del Rosario

MANILA, Philippines - Back in the Azkals roster, Anton del Rosario hopes to help provide the leadership and experience to a team gearing up for various international tournaments, including the Philippine Peace Cup and the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Suzuki Cup.

The team leader of Kaya Football Club in the United Football League, del Rosario is all geared up for the big task, having been part of the Azkals since 2003 and the historic squad that won the coveted Suzuki Cup in Vietnam and Indonesia in 2010.

Del Rosario knows football inside and out, and considers it primarily as a mental game. “Playing football is my therapy,” he said. “When I play, I don’t have to think about things outside of football. More often than not, I’m happy in the field.”

Since football is a highly-physical game, del Rosario makes sure he’s always in tip-top condition, taking 7-to-8 hours of sleep and practicing six days a week. In between training, he hits the gym to keep his body in shape.

He also underscores the importance of fiber in one’s diet, in tandem with the protein, carbohydrates and healthy fats one consumes for daily nourishment. “Fiber is necessary in one’s diet because I believe it helps cleanse your system,” said del Rosario, a brand ambassador of C-Lium, a fiber supplement made from 100 percent natural psyllium fiber.

“By being clean from the inside, one feels lighter. And because I feel lighter, I feel that I have a surplus of energy,” he said.

Though he may be pushing himself constantly and setting his limits high, del Rosario said he keeps things in check by also taking care of the other things that matter to him. For instance, he makes sure that he gets to play football with his son Myles. “We already have Myles playing at the Kaya Academy and he loves it,” he said. “It’s good to have him involved at a young age.”

By all indications, Anton is at the top of his game. It helps that he has everything covered – from his professional to his personal life, from diet to exercise, from good sleep to fiber supplementation. With this healthy lifestyle and the help of C-Lium, it’s no surprise that del Rosario can go the extra mile and help make a difference for the Azkals.

C-Lium Fibre is made from 100 percent natural psyllium fiber and is a good source of soluble and insoluble fiber. It comes in husk powder and capsule variants and is available in leading drugstores and supermarkets nationwide.
