MANILA, Philippines - The 2014 Manila 10s Rugby Tournament was held recently at the Nomad Sports Club in Parañaque City, celebrating a landmark 25 years of supporting and promoting youth development in sports.
“Over the years, the Manila 10s has been a great event that brings together teams of different races, ages and nationalities to compete and promote rugby here in the Philippines,†said Rick Santos, president of the Philippine Rugby Football Association (PRFU).
“Considering the great run of the Philippine Volcanoes the past year, the Manila 10s is one way by which we can share what this game is all about –teamwork, sportsmanship, determination, discipline, and fun,†he added.
Santos is also chairman and founder of real estate advisory and consultancy CBRE Philippines, which sponsored the 25th Manila 10s tournament. Different teams, including CBRE’s own Maverick Vipers, competed in the Cup, Bowl, Plate, Shield, and Veterans Division.
