Adornado, Co suit up for PBA Legends

MANILA, Philippines - PBA all-time greats Bogs Adornado and Atoy Co make a rare return appearance on the PBA hard court to lead the cast of participants in the 2014 PBA Legends Game at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City tomorrow.

Adornado and Co, both former MVP winners and PBA Hall of Famers, lend their hand as playing coaches in the featured game on the All-Star tomorrow that also showcases the skills events.  

Jonas Villanueva goes for a five-peat feat in the Obstacle Challenge while Chris Ellis and Chris Tiu defend their crowns in the slam-dunk and three-point shootout competitions, respectively.

The Legends Game will be played for the third straight year with Freddie Abuda, Franz Pumaren, Johnedel Cardel, Topex Robinson, Dickie Bachmann, Noli Locsin, Jeff Cariaso and Richard del Rosario the other retired players in the cast.

Co, Abuda, Pumaren, Cardel and Robinson team up with Jonas Villanueva, Jvee Casio, Willie Miller, Terrence Romeo, Rey Guevarra and Cliff Hodge in Team Greats while Adornado, Bachmann, Locsin, Cariaso and Del Rosario will be with John Wilson, Sol Mercado, Tiu, Mark Cardona and Justin Melton in Team Stalwarts.

Game time is 8 p.m.

Ato Agustin emerged the Most Valuable Player in Laoag in 2012 then Kenneth Duremdes last year in Digos, Davao del Sur.

The skills events, starting at 5:45 p.m., are as special with an elite field entered in each contest.

Aguilar, among the league’s most exciting dunkers today, finally makes his much-awaited participation in the dunking contest, challenging teammate and defending champ Ellis.

Also entered in the anticipated contest are Calvin Abueva, Guevarra, Hodge and Melton.

Tiu, the surprise three-point shootout winner last year ending the three-year reign of Mark Macapagal, defends his crown against Macapagal, Cardona, Casio, Ronjay Buenafe, Mac Baracael, Gary David, James Yap, Marcio Lassiter and Larry Fonacier.

Meanwhile, Villanueva tries to extend his long domination of the Obstacle Challenge, staking his crown against Casio, Miller, LA Tenorio, Romeo, Wilson, Paul Lee, Mark Barroca, Mercado and Jayson Castro.
