Tempra Run vs dengue up

MANILA, Philippines - Underscoring the importance of prevention in the fight against dengue, the 2013 Tempra Run Against Dengue will put emphasis on cleanliness to minimize the presence of mosquitoes at home.

“Dengue prevention begins at home and one of the best ways to fight this epidemic is by maintaining a clean environment, where mosquitoes would find it hard to dwell and multiply,” said Tempra senior product manager Cleo Roda Nodado during her guesting at the Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) Forum in Shakey’s Malate. “We will emphasize this during our advocacy run.”

Tempra has partnered with Subterranean Ideas in organizing the second year of the Run Against Dengue on Nov. 17 at the Quezon City Memorial Circle.

Four categories comprise the fun run, namely 10k (P450), 4k (P400), 2k (P300) and Family Run (P250 each runner) – the event’s newest division featuring a parent (or parents) running for a distance of 1k with his or her kid/s.

Toby’s Trinoma and Toby’s Mall of Asia are the registration partners of the run also backed by the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, Philippine Sports Commission, Green Cross, Medicard, Gemilang4U International, Business Mirror, Health and Fitness Magazine and the National Capital Region Athletic Association.

Other registration centers are the Sta. Lucia Healthcare Center, basement level, Sta. Lucia Mall, Cainta, Rizal (tel. No. 647-2545) and the Liwasang Aurora of the QC Memorial Circle (near the blue stage) every weekend until Nov. 16 and an hour prior to the gun start of the 10k run on race day.
