Tri United 3 race unfolds at Subic

MANILA, Philippines - Close to 500 participants test their mettle in the Tri United series, which moves back to the Subic Bay Freeport Zone with the launching of Tri United 3 race tomorrow, starting at 6 a.m.

Organized by Bikeking (headed by Raul Cuevas), the race features the standard distance of 1.5 K swim-40K bike–10 K run for elite and age-groupers, as well as a shorter race course of 750M swim-20K bike-5K run for teen participants.

Competing for the Elite Male title in the event sponsored by Unilab Active Health, Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority tourism department (SBMA), Enervon Active, Enervon HP, I-ON Energy Drink, Hydrite, AboitizPower, Pocari Sweat, Timex, Crystal Clear Purified Water, Corima and Orbea, are Jonard Saim of the Philippine Team and Unilab Active Health members Philip Atento, Benjamin Rana, Jr., and Dan Brown. On the distaff side, Unilab’s Ani de Leon-Brown is the heavy favorite.

For the team competition, Endure Multisport, PLDT-Bikeking, Smart Triathlon Team, TRIMAC, Team Sante Barley and Unilab Active Health will be slugging it out for the title.

Winners of the Top 3 Male and Top 3 Female categories will be awarded with medals plus gift packs from the sponsors.

All registered participants are entitled to post-race meals, finisher’s medals, event shirts, race bibs, swim caps, timing chips and passes to the Active Health Village.

Meanwhile, BIKEKING announced that registration for Tri United 4 remains open and participants are welcome to sign up online at www.bikekingphilippines.com .

Tri United 4 will be held at Fontana Leisure Park in Clark, Pampanga on November 24 using its 50-meter pool and will have sprint distance and teens distance race courses making it an ideal event for beginners. Individual participants and relay teams are welcome to join in.
