Jorge, Granada top jungolf
MANILA, Philippines - Veteran internationalists Josh Jorge and Sean Granada both carded 57 Molave points equivalent to three-under-par in medal play to top their respective divisions in the sixth leg of the ICTSI-JGFP School Season Series conducted by The Junior Golfers League at the tricky Capitol Hills layout in Diliman, Quezon City,
Jorge topped the boys Class D division while Granada prevailed in the boys Class E category of the two weekend tourney serving as part of the year-end series held under the auspices of The Junior Golf Foundation of the Philippines with the major backing of the International Container Terminal Services, Inc.
Jorge beat Riggs Illescas by four points while Granada finished far ahead of Leandro Bagtas who wound up 12 points behind.
Also winning in the boys competition of the series also supported by Pancake House, Yellow Cab, Sizzlin’ Pepper, Golf Depot and McDonald’s were John Catalan in the special division, Korean Bin Bae Woo in Class A, Aniceto Mandanas in Class B, Marc Corrales in Class C and Andrew Chua in Class F.
Among the girls, it was Tomi Arejola in Class C with 37 points, Laila Barro in Class D with 42 and Monique Arroyo in Class E with 26.
Meanwhile, the seventh leg of the series resumes today at the Club Intramuros. Format is best of two rounds out of three with the Molave system of scoring to be used again.
