Lagon, Marzo pace World Slashers tilt

MANILA, Philippines - Sonny Lagon and former champion Boy Marzo went four-of-four with their bets BM Liam Antonio CSJ and BM Young Rebel, respectively, to lead the first day winners in the World Slasher Cup eight-cock invitational derby at the Araneta Coliseum last Monday.

Bacolod’s Itoy Sison and son Boyet Sison teamed up with Gov. Eddie Bong Place of Agusan del Sur as they also swept the first four matches with their entries EP Roosterville GF-BAN and EP Rosterville GF-BAN-1. 

Boy Lechon, meanwhile, pooled two points in tandem with Manny Licup and Ting Ariosa with their entries Manny L. Bulik JDLS and Manny L. Gray JDLS in the seven-day event co-presented by Thunderbird Romoxtyl and sponsored by Bmeg, Sagupaan and Supremo.

Meanwhile, action heats up in Day Three today with 120 new entries, including Angola-based Jun Bacolod of North Cotabato, vying for honors in the event hosted by the Pintakasi of Champions.

Also gaining in last Monday’s opener were newly crowned 2012 Bakbakan champion Vic Lacsao of Bacolod City, whose entries breezed through the elims to join the only two Bakbakan and World Slasher winners in Sonnie Magtibay and Gengen Arayata. Lacsao’s entry ViLac Immaculada/Vice Gov. Cagayan.
