Sta. Lucia East, Hogs stay on top

MANILA, Philippines - Hogs Breath Café defeated Arquitectos Construction, 87-81, while Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall demolished Globe Telecoms, 128-109, to remain on top of their respective groups in the second DELeague Open Invitational Basketball Cup at the Marikina Sports Park gym in Marikina City over the weekend.

Floyd Dedicatoria scored 23 points and had eight rebounds to power Hogs Breath to its fourth straight victory in Group B.

Nathan Matute scored 25 points for Arquitectos Construction, which fell to 0-3.

Meanwhile, Francis Kiko Adriano sizzled with 24 points while RL Buncay added 21 markers as defending champion Sta. Lucia East Grand Mall overwhelmed Globe Telecoms to notch its third win against a loss in Group A.

Jacob Manlapaz scored 35 points while JR Aguilo made 30 points for Globe Telecoms, which slid to 1-4.

Action in the event, organized by Marikina Mayor Del de Guzman and sponsored by PCA-Marivalley, OLOPS College, Jekasa Sportswear, Hobe Bihon, Mckie’s Video, Simply Delicious, and Luyong Panciteria, resumes tonight with Arquitectos taking on Power Networks and Globe clashing with During BBQ.
