Parañaque chess tourney on tomorrow
MANILA, Philippines - The 56th edition of first Saturday chess tournament gets going tomorrow with another huge field expected to vie for top honors at Perez Bldg. , Better Living Subd. in Parañaque City.
Registration is ongoing with the tournament open to all untitled and rated players with NCFP ratings not below 1950.
The winners will get P3,000 with the next two receiving P2,000 and P1,000, respectively, plus trophies.
Events on tap are the seniors, college, high school, elementary and ladies divisions, according to the organizing Parañaque Chess Association, headed by Dr. Bong Perez.
The monthly tournament is sponsored by Tagaytay City Mayor Bambol Tolentino, Rep. Roilo Golez, Councilor Benjo Bernabe, Brgy. Captain Teodoro Virata, Kagawad Chona Navarro, Boy Francisco, Spare and Strike, Joillibee (Better Living), Shakey’s Pizza (SM Bicutan branch) and Red Ribbon (SM Bicutan).
