Ynares appoints Herrera Rizal province coach
MANILA, Philippines - Rizal Gov. Casimiro Ynares III has appointed five-time Batang PBA champion coach Mark Herrera as mentor of the Rizal province squad for the Batang PBA basketball season, which starts April 24.
Herrera, head coach and head of the basketball program of the AMA Computer University, currently coaches the Phl 13-Under team.
“It’s a great honor to be personally selected by Gov. Ynares for the provincial team and I’m excited to be part of this organization,” said Herrera.
“There’s some pressure continuing my winning streak (of five straight titles) in the Jr. PBA but we shall try our best. I believe in my players, who all have the potential and are hardworking and dedicated,” added Herrera, who will be assisted by Eugene Bautista, Edwin Ancheta, Wilson Lagaras and Vani Jugo .
