Guadalupe pips foe in Coke Hoopla

MANILA, Philippines - Guadalupe turned back Pio del Pilar, 66-60, to spark a rash of come-from-behind victories in the intra-city elimination phase of the second Coca-Cola Hoopla at various venues.

Guadalupe battled back from 41-48 down in the third quarter with a big splurge in the fourth to complete the win in Makati, while Dolores edged San Juan, 76-73, after falling behind at 37-28 at the half in Taytay, Rizal.

In Antipolo, San Jose tripped Mayamot, 104-98; Black 4 downed Kasipagan, 88-80, in Manila; Almanza Uno edged Bernabe, 118-117, in Las Piñas; Yasdo clubbed Southern Side, 67-57, in Muntinlupa; San Antonio topped BF Homes, 70-64, in Parañaque;

Pasay Youth thumped Batang Pasay, 109-101; San Jose nipped Tangos, 64-59, in Navotas; Bagong Barrio rapped Grace Park, 78-72, in Caloocan; San Roque dumped Sto. Rosario, 89-78, in Pateros; Pitogo crushed Olympia, 90-73, in Makati; Onse defeated Sta. Lucia, 78-71, in San Juan; and Macamot routed Lunsad, 71-57, in Binangonan.

Meanwhile, today’s matches pit Bagong Nayon vs San Jose at 6 p.m. at Mayamot in Antipolo; Bukid vs Black 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Brgy. 72 Zone 6 in Manila; Daniel vs Almanza Uno at 2:30 p.m. at Daniel in Las Piñas; A.S.P. vs Southern Side at 6:30 p.m. at Bliss Court Putatan in Muntinlupa;

A total cash prize of P500,000 is up for grabs in the tournament launched by JB Baylon, PBA Powerade Tigers governor and director for public affairs and communications of Coca-Cola Export Corp., with P250,000 going to the eventual NCR champion.
