Yap imposes superiority in outdoor archery tiff

MANILA, Philippines –  Earl Yap, the country’s finest archer from Benel Archery Club, stamped his class in the recently concluded 2010 National Outdoor Target Archery Championship, setting four new records in his dominant showing in senior men’s compound event at the Ultra field in Pasig.

A three-time gold medalist in the Asian Grand Prix, Yap established new marks in Fita 90-meter with 342, single Fita of 1390, total Olympic round points of 352 and total 12-arrow points of 119. His event is set to be included in the next Asian Games.

Olympian Mark Javier dominated both Fita and Olympic rounds in men’s recurve division while Delfin Adriano, a Junior Youth Olympian, made his mark in both Fita and Olympic rounds in junior recurve division.

Theodore Cabral reigned supreme in men’s recurve cadet.

PSC commissioner Jolly Gomez, assisted by PANNA president Lenora Brawner, awarded the medals to the winning archers.
