Tuason guns for third GT win vs Tan

MANILA, Philippines - Mike Tuason tries to firm up his hold of the lead as the 2010 Yokohama Philippine Grand Touring (GT) Championship returns to the Batangas Racing Circuit for its third leg on June 20.

Tuason, with his Mazda RX7, will be gunning for his third straight win, hoping for a repeat over closest rival William Tan.

In the last race, Tuason, of TRS-Castrol, nipped Tan with a decisive maneuver that key his victory by just 0.694 of a second. He also ruled the GT 300 class over Leo San Juan.

However, Tan hopes to use his familiarity with the Batangas Racing Circuit tracks as he seeks revenge against Tuason and keep his title hopes alive in the event sanctioned by the Automobile Association Philippines and sponsored by Yokohama Tires, Pagcor Sports, Aeromed, Chequered Flag, and Stoplight TV.

“I’ll just try my best. We made adjustments on the car set-up and hopefully, things works much better this time,” said Tan, who’s also eyeing the GT 200 crown against Dennis Uy of Velocity Motors, Bjorn Ongtiabok of TRS-Castrol and privateer Joey Pery.
